Internal Audit Manager

Description:The Manager is responsible for performing a variety of duties. The Manager coordinates
work within the department on audit programs, performs audit test work and writes up test
steps, supervises work of staff on audit programs, and reports pertinent information to the
Director of Audit.

There is minimal travel and no customer contact. There is contact with employees of other departments and with management.

Duties:1. Performs a variety of duties relating to the audit position:

a. Ensures audit schedule is completed on time.

b. Reviews and/or writes audit programs

c. Prepares working papers and other work in conformity with the International Standards for the Performance of Internal Audit

d. Serves as lead auditor when working with assigned staff by organizing, scheduling and distributing work

e. Reviews working papers and conclusions of staff auditors

f. Discusses with management the scope and objectives to be performed; discusses findings as the audit progresses; discusses conclusions and recommendations as audits are finalized

g. Writes audit reports

h. Presents reports to management and the audit committee

2. Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the bank or department as well as with other departments in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information.

3. Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the work place.

4. Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of audit management and overall safety and soundness and the bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements, e.g. Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Sarbanes Oxley, etc.

5. Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor, Director of Internal Audit Department, as required and/or requested, or according to an established schedule; compiles information as necessary or as directed and provides data to appropriate bank personnel.


6. Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, other bank personnel, etc., within given time frames and within established policy.


Ancillary Duties

1. Performs tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re-designed depending upon individual circumstances.
Qualifications:Education/Training:

A high school diploma or equivalent. A degree, plus certification as CPA, CIA, CBA or other similar certification.

Skill(s):

Proficient reading, writing, and grammar skills; proficient mathematics skills; proficient PC skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word; able to learn software used to prepare electronic work papers; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; visual and auditory skills.

Experience:

A minimum of five (5) year’s experience in banking including five (5) years audit experience.
